Architects in Sussex designing award winning spaces for over 30 years

Karenna Wilford Architect

Karenna Wilford Architects are here to help you with your project, whether that be refurbishments, extensions, loft conversions, new builds or converting redundant agricultural buildings. We are experienced architects and have worked extensively with many local planning authorities in Sussex such as Wealden, Rother, Lewes, Brighton & Hove and Tunbridge Wells in Kent, with an excellent success rate.

Some areas in Sussex have restrictions associated with them.  An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a nationally important, protected landscape.  The purpose is to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the area safeguarding it for the future.

If you live in a conservation area, your property may be affected by restrictions and need planning permission for small alterations such as new doors and windows, cladding and the addition of a small extension which can usually be covered by permitted development.

Planning permission in the South Downs National Park Authority is complex but some building work can be carried out under Permitted Development.  KWA can work with local authorities throughout Sussex to ensure their requirements are met.

We are also very experienced with working on listed buildings which are subject to regulations protecting their historical and architectural significance. KWA can help get the right planning consents sensitively and respectfully, transforming buildings to meet the expectations of modern life.

Karenna and her team are professional architects and interior designers. A RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) Chartered Practice and ARB (Architects Registration Board) registered.  We are sensitive to creating sustainable buildings that maximise efficient construction and technology.

We are based near Mayfield in East Sussex providing a bespoke holistic architectural service. We will guide you through the different stages, giving you as much support as you need through the entire process, from an initial complementary consultation through to completion of the building works.
